2022 Wrap Up Sales in India

The year 2022 came to a satisfying close on a high note because automobile sales in December increased by 8.2 per cent, with a total of 2,75,130 units sold last month as compared to 2,54,270 units sold in December 2021. The results are particularly astounding when one considers that several major automakers, including Maruti Suzuki, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, and Jeep, all experienced a little decline in sales during this period.

Despite a nine per cent decrease in sales, Maruti Suzuki maintains its position as the market leader in India. Compared to the previous month's sales of 1,23,016 units, the company only moved 1,12,010 products during the most recent month. Tata Motors

In December 2022, Tata Motors had a higher level of sales than Hyundai, which allowed it to move into second place. Compared to the cumulative sales of 35,300 units in December 2021, the Indian carmaker reported a growth of 13.4 per cent with incremental sales of 40,045 units in the month that just ended. The difference between Hyundai India and second place in December sales was only 1,214 vehicles. The number of units sold by the company in December 2022 was 38,831, representing a gain of 20.2% compared to the number of units sold in December of the previous year, which was 32,312. Mahindra

After a month of sales of 28,333 units, Mahindra moved to the fourth position on this list. The company had significant growth of 62 per cent in unit sales in December 2021, reporting 17,476 sales of their products. Kia India

With 15,184 unit sales in December 2022, Kia India moved to the fifth spot on the list of best-selling automobile manufacturers in the country. The increase in sales to 7,797 units over the same period in the prior year represents a growth rate of 95 per cent for the company. Toyota

The previous month's sales of Toyota vehicles in India were down by 4%. Compared to the 10,833 units sold in December 2021, the Japanese automobile manufacturer reported 10,421 units sold in December 2022. Conclusion

It is anticipated that positive consumer emotions, the unveiling of new car models, and the debut of new vehicles at the Auto Expo 2023 will further enhance car sales in India. In addition, it is anticipated that sales of electric vehicle models will make up a sizeable portion of total vehicle sales this month.
